Go to Post (middle school age) One time I had a truly awful day at school and came home crying. My mother's response? "Do you want to go to the build session tonight? It will make you feel better.." And it did. It always does. - rachelholladay [more]

Angry Camera Just stops!!!

I’ve just about had it with the camera. When we first got it we couldn’t get it to power up but that was because we had a faulty backup battery. When we got the new battery the camera would power up but in the terminal window it kept saying “No camera data…”. We played around with it for about a week and decided to change the number of slow loops in tracking.h from the default value of 3, to 10. At first it didn’t work but then the camera magically started working and even tracked the light. I was working on the camera and was changing the search pattern. I built it and loaded it to the rc but the camera stopped working and all that was coming back was “No camera data…” even though the camera was on and the backup battery was charged. I undid my changes and built and downloaded again only to have the same result. So I took a .hex file I had saved to a flash drive that I knew worked and downloaded it to the rc only to have the same result. I came to the conclusion that it was a hardware issue and so I used the serial port diagnostic code to try and find the problem. I jumpered a pwm cable for the loop back test and it came back fine. When I plugged it into the camera it failed to return anything back to the terminal window. The backup battery is charged, the cables are connected properly, the camera’s green LED is on, and it was just working and tracking the light 20 minutes ago. What is wrong with the camera and why does it just mysteriously start working and stop working even when its hooked up properly.
