transmission help

Im proud to say that as a rookie team we had a driving chassis by the end of week 4, but the problem now is the word "had". it should be "have" and right now it isnt. When we tried to drive today one side is binding and doesnt move. ive taken that sides transmission apart and found that the original KOP transmission no longer turns(we have the 2 to 1 adaptor). the adaptor parts are fine as are both motors but the problem seems to be in the planet gears furthest away from the motors. they dont turn any more when i twist the drive shaft.

Any tips on how to go about cleaning/debugging our transmission?
