Thumbs up 2 steps forward, 1 step back!

This is a thread to talk about the upsets and things your team had to over come in order to come out successful. Weather, building problems, lack of money, tools, computer...anything.

My team #1666 The Nerd Herd has faced many problems. At our Junior College where we have our own robotics room, the water pipes froze and all the pipes in the ceiling busted! It was spraying water for days...what a pain. We had to move everything out to a different side of the builing because on top of the water leak the heaters did not work. Everything was freezing over! One other minor detail to my team was our internet. Our school district blocks so many websites. It took us forever to be able to axcess anything at all. It was so frusterating. We still are blocked from YouTube, which would be nice to have. But even though there are many disappointments...we are surviving and pushing through as a team. Hope all of you as well are doing so! Time is almost out!!!

Re: 2 steps forward, 1 step back!

lol,

My team #2167
I created this team at the beginning of this school year with a friend of mine. I started the team because I got involved in the rookie team at my old high school, and when I chose to switch schools and basically go to college after sophomore year... I decided to not let go of robotics.
So for the first 3 weeks or so, there was some team building that needed to go on, because no one was doing anything! By that time, I had been there for every second of the creation of our practice robot, and my calculus grade was an F, my history grade was a C and my Chem 2 grade was a C. They kicked me, the creator, off the team.
Booh, hooh.
So I *cough cough* haven't *cough cough* been helping with the robot.
and I *cough* don't know *cough* what is going on.
and I actually am studying my but off again.

oh yah, and we have no mentors either.

and now, the admin at our school doesn't want us to go to our regional because we haven't finished the robot yet.
they think we can present it next year.
they haven't done much research, as you can see.
