Assuming both are in the player station (and have the appropriate badges), there's nothing prohibiting it. Signing into the player station from elsewhere, however, is a no-go.
However, I've never found the alliance stations to be so loud that you can't just shout to the guy next to you. |

why not just walk right on next to the other coach and talk. its perfectly legal.

Maybe one of their drivers is deaf and they wanted to tell them what to do. I think it would be kind of difficult to do that and keep track of whats going on on the field, but its possible.

We actually had a guy on our team that knew sign language. We used him in our animation, but we never thought of using him for comunication during a match.
