Consider the number of qualifying matches you've seen this year where fewer than 30 points were scored. This strategy guarantees the 30 and still leaves you with one robot free to roam.

I did not know that was allowed. If they were to build a bot that could latch onto the top of another, would they be able to move if it was secure?

In this case, though, neither of the robots could move a bit so they might as well have done it. I just don't know why the opposing alliance didn't go "bump" them out of the end zone. Probably isn't gp though.
