Backgrounds in Inventor

How do you change the background in inventor from the default blue to something of you own choosing? I have seen the Cybersonics (103) do it. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Backgrounds in Inventor

I only change mine to a 114 styled background if I'm doing a mass group of renders to show to a sponsor or potential sponsor.

Other than that, I like the stock blue.

Re: Backgrounds in Inventor

In the regular modeling environments:
Go to Tools>Application Options>Display tab
choose a color, gradient, or image file

In Inventor Studio for renderings, do that with the options in the Scene settings.

Re: Backgrounds in Inventor

In the Inventor Studio you can change the surface, lighting, and scene styles. I liked using a mirror in scene images for some cool looking renders. It all depends on what you want you image to look like.

[Edit] I dont think thats what you mean but theres some other info in there.

Absolutely.

Sometimes when I'm at school, I change it to a really really obnoxious color and show it off to people who don't know how to change the color.

There are two backgrounds that are getting discussed here i think. The first is the work background, which you can change under tools, application options. If 3

Re: Backgrounds in Inventor

There are two backgrounds that are getting discussed here i think. The first is the work background, which you can change under tools, application options. This is norally a blue hue kind of. You can change it to a bacground image if you want to trace it, which is often convenient.

In Inventor studio when you render it asks you what kind of backround you want. The scene settings allow you to do the same, and adjust the shadow, reflectiveness, and location of the back drop. The preset lightings are easiest to use, so i wouldnt suggest wasting time to make your own

i stuck with just black this year to draw attention to the objects. Unfortunately our endgame was completely black so that was the downfall. Check it out on my website in my signiture.

Re: Backgrounds in Inventor

I personally prefer the default blue. The other colors are often too bright or too dark for my taste. Also, the problem with a gradient or image is that then you are drawing attention away from the part(which is what Inventor is mostly about).

On a side note, how many of you change your background in AutoCAD? I personally never do this for the same reason as previously stated.

Re: Backgrounds in Inventor

We used a custom background for the pictures of our Autodesk Inventor award submission. I think it improved our overall presentation a little. The blue background does get a little dull after a while.

Re: Backgrounds in Inventor

I usually prefer th blue settings, but it is nice just to mess around and have some fun with it.
