DIY open exhaust
Downshifted a little too hard coming out of a corner. Engine kicked and ripped the cat off the turbo.

Same thing happened to the truck I drive for work. The cat blew right off onto the street. My boss still hasn't had it put back in, so there's just a straight pipe to the muffler right now.

Same thing happened to me, except it rusted right off. Had to buck up $200 for a new muffler. '91 Chevy S10... not even worth $200. Paid $500.

Yeah, it seems to be a pretty common problem apparently.
For right now I'm probably just gonna pry it back in and have my friend tack weld it. Eventually I'll throw a cat-delete racing downpipe (only $165) on it, when I have time to even try and get those flange nuts off. PB blaster is gonna be my friend. Quote:
