I'm blaming my miscalling the Redskins' and Eagle's games on the throwback uniforms

Re: 2007 NFL Pick-em: Week 3
Sunday
Miami at New York Jets Questionable Pennington and Miami's D will make this rather lopsided San Diego at Green Bay The Pack might be 2-0, but San Diego has something to prove, look for the Chargers to plow through Green Bay to regain some credibility. San Francisco at Pittsburgh The Bay is 2-0, but Alex Smith has the second fewest passing yards in the NFL...that doesn't bode well against a Steelers team that's looked like the Steel curtain the past two games. Buffalo at New England Bill Bilicheck hopes that his "scandal" is behind him with the routing the Pats gave the Bolts last weekend...however that's not the case and the mud storm is bound to brew up sometime in the near future. For now, I'm going to say that New England will enjoy being a powerhouse while it still lasts Minnesota at Kansas City Minnesota has returned a turnover for a TD the first two games, look for them to do it again versus a team that doesn't have a QB. Detroit at Philadelphia I really want to say that the Eagles pick up their first win....but after their Monday Night outing, I just can't do it. It's either going to be a shootout or a one sided affair, either way Mo-Town drives away with another win. St. Louis at Tampa Bay There's no way that Marc Bulger and crew can start out 0-3 after most picked them to win the west. Expect them to regain confidence against a sub-par Tampa Bay team. Arizona at Baltimore Arizona's offense is a two-faced demon. On some weekends it looks like a Juggernaut that can't be stopped, other times It looks like... Arizona. Either way it's a good thing Denny Green still isn't a coach other wise we might have "THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE" part 2. Indianapolis at Houston Houston has looked solid the first two games (yes, I know they were against the Panthers and the Chiefs), but they finally got a QB who can stay vertical, a RB that can run, and a O line that isn't a sieve. However, Indy has a QB with a laser rocket arm, and you can't go against that. Indy in a nailbiter. Jacksonville at Denver Gerrard hasn't proven much of late, and Denver's defense is too good. Denver wins in a low scoring affair. Cleveland at Oakland First thought is to always pick who's playing Oakland, but after Cleveland's shootout with Cincy last week, they might actually be better than we gave them credit for. Cincinatti at Seattle My condolences to those in the Emerald City, but the window has shut. You had your chance at a Title, and you fell short. That and last week you played awfully. Look for Carson and crew to light up the field. Carolina at Atlanta Yes the Falcons have a shiny new quarterback in Byron Leftwich, but he hasn't been playing for 3 weeks and won't make much difference in this game if at all. Expect Carolina to come away with this one handily. New York Giants at Washington New York is a mess, and there's no end in sight. Washington usually plays New York hard, and don't expect anything less this wee. Dallas at Chicago Let me take a second to count how many touchdowns Chicago has scored this season...oh yeah, 2. One was a punt return and the other was scored by a offensive lineman...doesn't bode too well. I'm pretty sure that Dallas will shine again and take this one away. Monday Tennessee at New Orleans When I looked at this game at the beginning of the season I was excited. A powerhouse offense of '06 and a up and coming star to the NFL....at least that's what it should have been. It's essentially a toss up, but look for the Saints to march over the Titans in the less than biblical matchup. |

Miami at New York Jets The Jets showed signs of life. Green continues the Dolphins run of crappy quarterbacks hoping to make Dolphin fans forget Marino. San Diego at Green Bay I can't see Green Bay beating the Chargers. San Francisco at Pittsburgh The Niners have been just getting by. The Steelers are not going to mess around with them. Buffalo at New England Great. just what the Bills need. The Patriots feeling they have to prove themselves.... Minnesota at Kansas City The Chief's strength is Larry Johnson's running. The Vikings strength is stopping the run. Detroit at Philadelphia The Eagles take it up a notch. St. Louis at Tampa Bay The Rams are having protection problems and they usually show up mostly on the road. Arizona at Baltimore The Ravens D will make life miserable for the Cardinals. Indianapolis at Houston The Texans are a nice story but the Colts are old pros at winning and will find a way to win. Jacksonville at Denver Denver has been getting by on thier second chances. The Jags specialize in giving opponents second chances. Cleveland at Oakland THe Raiders D is far far more formidable than the Bengals D. Cincinatti at Seattle If the Browns can put up 50+ on the Bengals how much can the Seahawks put up? Carolina at Atlanta The Panthers should win this one going away. New York Giants at Washington The Giants look hopeless Dallas at Chicago Chicago is at home so the defense should be pumped up to put on a show. Monday Tennessee at New Orleans The Saints have seriously regressed. Last edited by Koko Ed : 18-09-2007 at 20:38. |

Miami at New York Jets After last weeks performance against a tough defense, I'm confident even the backup QB will have no problem. San Diego at Green Bay GB has been doing well....but chargers have them beat. San Francisco at Pittsburgh Pitt Defense is no match for SF running game, which is their only hope. Buffalo at New England New England has them beat in every aspect.....including cheating. Minnesota at Kansas City KC hasn't looked to hot. This will be a close one however. I expect down to the last seconds. Detroit at Philadelphia HOW IS DETROIT 2-0!?! I'm going out on a limb here and taking the favored team, Philly, their offense and their home field adv. St. Louis at Tampa Bay St. Louis again has been struggling and can give up some big plays. I take TB (not the disease). Arizona at Baltimore I know, why Arizona? Their offense isn't very fine tuned nor their defense. But if the Jets figured out Baltimore's D-holes, I think so will Arizona. Indianapolis at Houston I predict another close game here. But at the end, just like every other game, Indy out offenses everyone. Jacksonville at Denver How can you not pick the team with the two game winning FG's? Cleveland at Oakland Tie 0-0. Cincinatti at Seattle Battle of offense. Cinci opens up the throwing game and wastes the hawks. Carolina at Atlanta With Vick spending time with OJ, Carolina rolls over this struggling team. New York Giants at Washington Giants cannot get in rhythm and Portis will easily take them down. Dallas at Chicago Close game. I would say Chicago honestly from their Home field adv. Monday Tennessee at New Orleans Easy victory over a surprisingly struggling team. |

Re: 2007 NFL Pick-em: Week 3
I didn't watch the game up I did see how quickly the Eagle scored and it comes down to this, you need to be able to run the football. If you don't run the football you won't be able to keep the defense on its toes and you can't control the clock. Until the Lions actually try to run the ball they won't be a playoff team.
...if only the viking's running game could combine with the lion's passing game... |
