Seperate Forum/Sub forum for Demos?

I just posted a note about our gathering at the Westshore Mall in Holland and I got to wondering if it belongs in the general forum or in the off season events or somewhere else. It seems to me that the off season event thread pretty much applies to competitions. We've had lots of events like ours, the Michigan state fair. or other presentations that we want to talk about and get ideas or participants for but these seem to get lost in the other forums. I don't know if there's enough need to call for a separate space or not, I'm just asking the question:
Should we have a separate forum or subforum to discuss presentations, demonstrations, and other FIRST gatherings that are not competitions?

Re: Seperate Forum/Sub forum for Demos?

It might be a good idea. As I see it, such a forum would:
-allow other teams in a given area to know about/help with a demo
-give notice to teams in the area that can't come that they need to get potential supporters to the demo
-allow for questions about what happened

It could also be a bad idea:
-one more forum for the mods to keep an eye on
-what crosses the line from demo to competition?

I think I'm for the idea, though.

Re: Seperate Forum/Sub forum for Demos?

Demo should go under general. Everybody reads general first and it is a "general" type event. It is not a competition, it is not technical, it is not off season...catch my drift? Also if you post in general I bet you have a 10X more chance of having people from CD attend as participants or spectators.

Pavan.
