IR Sensor with Bot?
Has anyone tried connecting the IR sensor to their 2007 bot?? if someone has can you explain how or what it did??
What sort of things can you do with the sensor attacted? |

haven't yet, but I would assume you are supposed to wire the outputs the white wire of an old PWM cable, and program/plug it in as a sensor.
But, don't take my word for it. |

One of our engineers connected the IR board to a Vex robot. He can control the bot with his DVD remote

Our team did the same last weekend

Our Team has successfully programmed and worked the IR with our robot, we tried basic programming like just two controls up and down and were successful in manipulating the robot to move its flipper arms up and down

1625 had there IR board connected to an RC and it was working until some lose wire ends bumps some terminals they were not supposed to touch. (and now we don't have a board that works)

After setting four buttons into the board's memory, we connected each output-signal wire to it's own white wire to a PWM wire. The black wire, on the pwm wire, should connect the the ground (common) that you used to power the IR board, and the red wire can be left unconnected.
You can connect the PWM wire to any of the digital I/o's. We used 1 - 4, and used the remote to control our flipper. Just be sure to program it right.. since it's a 100msec 5v+ signal, and the processor loops every 26.2 msecs, you're gonna get a digital value 3 times in one push of a button. Basically, if you're using something that needs to flip-flop between two states, it'll go from 0-1-0 in a push of a button. |
