Re: paper: Portable Inspiration Facelift
Portable Inspiration (originally posted here: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2038) recently got a facelift. In addition to the traveling Vex squarebot game/workshop called "Pyramid Mania" we added four more pieces for a five station workshop we delivered to 130+ 2nd graders in another school district. Each workshop session was about 30 minutes. We already have plans for improving upon what we did, but attached are all of the files we created and used. Sorry for the sloppy order and repetition of two of the files, but for some reason we battled with CD Media to get it all uploaded.
![]() To get started, the three files you'd probably want to download first are: Portable_Inspiration_2007_08.doc workshop_logistics.doc Workshop Resources.doc -Then you can decide if the rest of the package is something you want to look at. Feel free to take, edit, and use as much of this as you'd like. If you have questions, I'm sure our students can answer them. Last edited by Rich Kressly : 23-12-2007 at 14:01. |

Re: paper: Portable Inspiration Facelift
Just updated the white paper info and uploaded files for Portable Inspiration. The added file is for a gifted 11th Grade Unit and here's the latest info on where the package has been and how it's been used:
-With Autistic Support Students at LMHS as an ongoing program (one of our founding students heads this as his Eagle Scout project) -As a part of guest unit with 11th grade gifted students entitled "Robotics, Society,Future" (this file is now attached, too!) -To expose young students to robotics an technology at local robotics competitions and cub scout pack meetings -As a part of elementary school workshops in grades K,1, and 2. Thus far our students have run workshops at three elementary schools (in and out of district) with plans to attend more this year. Obviously the greatest strengths of this package lie in the exciting hands-on experience and its flexibility. |
