In Need of Some Help Please!

Alright, I know this has nothing to do with FIRST, and hoping I put this thread in the right category, feel free to move it if it doesnt fit here.

Ok so recently all my boyfriends been talking about is how he wants a puppy, and a boxer. We were talking the other day about it, an I mentioned the adopt a pet things they have. Some allow you to take home the animal for a short few years and some allow you to keep it. All charges are relatively cheap an not extrememly expensive, which would be nice for him since we have other stuff to pay for. What i'm asking is if anyone knows of anything like this or the pet shelters that might be a good place to look? I live in CT an if I could find any place that seems like it would be a good place for animals with reasonably cheap costs it would help me out. Ive looked in places in CT and MA an havent found a lot of promising things or they dont have what i'm looking for. Something not so on the expensive side and that has boxers. The reason i'm asking here is because as being involved in the FIRST community everyone ive met are all helping of many situations. I know this might be a weird topic to post here, but thats my reasoning. People in FIRST always look to help people an respect others.
