Rules Doubts
Hi!,
I´m Leonardo, mentor (2006/2007 coach) of Team #1860 from Brazil, and we are having some problens to understand some of the rules. i wan´t to ask a few questions about the game rules. 1st- We don´t know if there is a penalty for touching other robots (opposite aliance robots) in the hybrid mode, because we intent to use just autonomous, and not the remote control. 2nd- If my aliance Track Ball stay in the initial position during the all match, we receive the 12 points? or we need to remove it and put it again? 3rd- We don´t know the frequencies allowed in the pit area and in the arena. We have a wireless sound system the we want to use in the robot carrier. It works in 2,4Ghz and we don´t know if it´s allowed in the competition. Thanks for the support Cephatron #1860 |

Re: Rules Doubts
1- yes you are allowed to touch another robot in hybrid mode, since it is autonomous it is strictly incidental so there will be no penalties.
2-you are allowed to leave your track ball in place for the additional 12 points without having to move the ball. just watch out for opposing robots if they try to remove you ball, in which case you wont get the extra points. 3-i have no idea on the frequency requirements because i havnt worked with that b4 |

Re: Rules Doubts
with the sound system, it might qualify as walkie talkies, which are not allowed.
Other than that, all the other things you mentioned are legal, as of 1-7-08. Chris McKenzie |

Re: Rules Doubts
3- Are you wanting to put speakers on your robot cart? If so, that's not allowed per section 3.3.6 and 3.9.12: "Do not add music to the cart". The reasoning behind this (as I understand it) is that it's distracting and can interfere with people's ability to hear announcements. Within your pit, any sound system would need to be kept at a very low volume that doesn't interfere with the ability of your neighbors to hear queueing announcements (see section 3.17).
As far as what frequencies, if any, would be ok to use in the pit, since these aren't the forbidden two-way radios, I'd check with the event staff at your regional in advance. In addition to the robot-control signaling, there's a lot of other stuff going on behind the scenes, and some of it is going to vary between regionals. |

Fala aeee Lobao huahuauhahua
In english: what's uuuup Lobaoo... Well, I asked here about the Frequency on the pit... and, acordding rule 3.17, it's allowed if you respect the music level, we can't listen a loud music... Let me explain: we're asking about frequency, cause we get an wonderfull sponsor, and they like to expose your product on the pit, that is a wireless sound system... it's frequency is 2.4GHz and power transmissions is 0dBm (1mW). So we'll can expose the product's sponsor (the restrictions frequency is at maximum 900 MHz). The Moovi (this is name of the product) will not interfere the radios os the robots... Thank youu Faloooow Lobão Viiiirgeeeem uhauhauhuha Traduction: Good bye Lobaaao, the guy that don't make a sex huahuahuahuaua |
