Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
we actually have a prototype robot that is up and running, and is able to hurdle 5-6 times in 2 minutes with inexperienced drivers.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
The school strike in Israel doesn't help our teams much as most of us are having morning and evening classes to fill in the gaps and holes it caused.
However, the pneumatics are done and working. The chassis is ready. Not much else apart from that... |

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Our chasis is almost complete, the drive train and the wheels still need to be mounted. I spent this whole weekend and got the eletrical board completely finished. Last year they were waiting on the eletrical board, so its a nice change of things- I can bug them to finish.
The OI is also finished. We've got a design down for the way we want to move the trackball around, we just have to make it. Lots of programming needs to be done but that usually doesn't take to long. I'd say we're definately ahead of schedule. |

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
We're ahead of last year, but still probably behind some other teams.
We do have a nice working electronics board, though. ![]() |

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Team 1757 has 1/3 of an operational drivetrain, and a design in mind, but nobody has done any real designing. As drivetrain guru, I'm a little worried about the rest of the bot, but I'm so focused on finally (after two years of depressing failure) getting a simple and effective drivetrain built that I'm sure the rest of the team has everything else under control...
Well, I'm pretty sure... I mean, I saw them playing with a pneumatic cylinder... That counts as designing, right...? Maybe I am worried... |

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
We are still developing the chassis in sketches and Inventor, and should be expected to build the chassis next week and several other things
Good to see how other teams are doing, I'll have to bookmark this. ![]() |

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
We have a pretty sweet prototype built. I like to call it the Warthog.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
We haven't purple powder coated anything yet this year. Translation: we're way behind schedule.
But it looks so good in CAD! |

We are on schedule....maybe even a little ahead
We have both our chasis and our electrical done, and our drive system is about an hour away from being completed. We will probably be driving later today. Our prototypes are done and we've all agreed on the design. All we really need to do is finish the "game-helper" (dont wanna give any of you guys clues for your robot ) and then practice with it. Although we only need to finish the "game-helper", it will take a while. We predict we will be practicing in about 1/2 weeks.Last edited by beemgruem : 11-01-2008 at 12:19. Reason: Just change:) |

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
Our team is operating way ahead of the ball this year (pun intended)... as a rookie team last year, none of the students knew anything about engineering or programming going into the season... this year we set up a fairly comprehensive series of Saturday morning lectures to go over all the basics, which already puts us about 2 weeks ahead of where we were last year.

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?
that's pretty astonishing. Your robots always gets a grade of A+.
We just completed our base and our working on our "Eiffel Tower" pillars now. ![]() |
