Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

Ahead of Schedule. Chassis was due to be done by the end of the week -- We're looking at tonight/tomorrow. We've got a few proto grabber mechanisms (3 I think), all are full sized and one is fully functional.

We just completed our base and our working on our "Eiffel Tower" pillars now.
Last year we didn't have anything machined until week 3.

Now that we can do the work ourselves and don't have to rely on time donated by sponsors, we should be done with our frame, wheels, bearing housings, and cams for tensioning the drive chains by Monday or so.

Impressive as always Cory. We are using a sliding bearing block instead to tension our bike chains. We are using a double sprocket in case **** happens and can switch the chain over for the front and rear wheels. Plus, we can mass produce the same sprockets no matter where they go.
Being next to you folks in the pit last year has truly been inspirational.
Thanks.

we are a tad bit behind because we ran out of Argon gas for the welder so i couldn't weld anymore and all work had to stop. Since I couldn't finish anymore stuff.

Well we have a chassis all the base electrics are done and programming have a manipulator and are working on finesse. Mainly getting the gyro to optimal efficiancy, first year of first is a charm!

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

I guess it is all relative........

We are about 2 weeks ahead of schedule from last year but it looks like we are 2 weeks behind others posting to this thread
We'll be fine as long as the parts that we are ordering come in at a timely fashion.

Main chassis built
Many of the programming bugs worked out
Lifting mechanism assembled but needing power
All prototypes built, checked and approved.

You don't already? Almost every team I know utilize weekends. It's practically essential to the schedule. But there are exceptions which prohibit some teams.

Our team has the design decided and are prototyping the gripper. We have the majority of the chasis built and are deisigning parts in Inventor. This season is looking great relative to the last 3 years. I'm siked.

Right on Schedule!

We had our very first unanimous design vote! It's official: Elevator this year instead of arm. We finished our design process yesterday and began our Solidworks design. The fast decisions were helped along by our mentor's declaration of "No one eats lunch until our robot is designed!" The entire robot has been mapped out and electronics should be designed by next week. I volunteered to be the person responsible for the electronics and raised my hand before realizing that I have had almost no electronics experience. I hope our robot turns out alright...

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

We have finished our electrical board, placed it on chasis, chasis is done. Drive system is done. We started to prototype our lifting system, and it is almost done.

Now we need to make our real lifting and program our robot and start testing

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

we JUST decided on our robot design at the end of the most recent meeting. We now have 5 weeks to design and build our first ever 2 speed transmission, our first ever forklift type lift/elevator, and a unique belt sinch grabbing mechanism. Too much to chew? maybe. lets find out!

Re: How far are teams right now? Behind Schedual?

I wouldn't mind having a couple of things assembled at the moment, but I can live with where we are.

Parts have been identified for drive, and will be ordered when one of our sponsorship checks clear. We've figured out a general design direction for our manipulator, and now have to get folks on CAD to determine exactly how much of what we need.

Basically, we know what we're doing--we just have to mash that "export to reality" button.
