Re: Robot Weight
We're shooting for 103, but it will actually weigh either 119.9 or 120.0 depending on whether the code has more 0s or 1s in it
(and the fact that you actually know what your robot weighs now puts you about 4 weeks ahead of where we were our rookie year) |

Re: Robot Weight
I don't know yet, but I suspect that the ideal weight is around 100 pounds. This will be a reasonable trade off between mass and acceleration.

Re: Robot Weight
Right now ours still weighs zero pounds, because we haven't even started building it. But we're figuring the chassis and drivetrain to be right around 50 lbs. Then there's the electronics, pneumatics, and all that stuff on top that will magically make the ball score billions of points. That will add up to a lot of weight.

Re: Robot Weight
we are hoping for 100 Lbs. but since our robot wighes 85 we are kind scared because we only have a driveable robot, with no scoring stucture.

Re: Robot Weight
We are just now starting on finished parts and finished frame. We had a prototype frame running but we never weighed it.

Re: Robot Weight
What is your frame made out of and what is your drive train? I estimate our base and drive train will only be around 35-45 lbs.

Re: Robot Weight
Our drivetrain weighs around 50Lbs so we are in good shape.

You might want to think about modifying your frame to make it lighter. |
