resistors

I felt this should go in chit-chat because most FIRST robots don't deal with micro electronics,

a team member and me are doing a little side project while we build the robot that calls for a 20K resistor, sadly the only thing I have close to that is a a few 10K resistors, if I strung them together would it suffice? is there any method of combining resistors to combine their resistance?

Re: resistors

Resistance adds in series. If you connect 2 10k resistors in series it is the same as 1 20k resistor.

Re: resistors

...so two 10k resistors can be combined to make 20k.

Re: resistors

Yes, 2 10K resistors in series, one after the other, is 20K

2 10K resistors in parallel, is 5K
