Inventor Tutorials?

Is it just me, or do the inventor tutorials on FIRSTBase provide little help? It's ok for learning the basics, which is good, but after that, it just loses me. For example, i have to "cut" the mounting plate for the power distribution block, and i have no idea how to do it. Even worse, i can't even find the power distrubution block in the FIRSTBase website. anyone know a better tutorial? or, at least, a less complicated one? (Inventor '08 for Dummies, anyone? ) thanks for listening. Please don't hate.
~Alex
