Compressor mount
Whats the best way to mount the compressor to reduce vibration? It will be in the standerd orientation, i'm just looking for the safest way to brace it and connect it. Also, are the screws that come with it good enough to hold it? [ the ones that are on the dampners ]

Re: Compressor mount
We have found that the supplied screws are prone to failures. We're considering using a bolt with springs or rubber grommets underneath the compressor legs slightly compressed.

Re: Compressor mount
I'm just having trouble finding nuts and screws to fit the mounts. The stock screws are so tiny!

The threads in the compressor base are #8-32 if you want to use a screw and some other damping material (grommet and mouse pad are both good ideas.). You can buy additional mounts on McMaster.com |

Re: Compressor mount
We use the provided rubber insulators, with plain 8-32 nuts, and have not had any problems. Be sure to leave about 1/2" clearance around the compressor to allow it to move as needed, and leave slack in the connecting tubing and wiring.

Re: Compressor mount
Plain nuts is the key - we tore one of ours trying to put on a lock nut (it took too much torque to put it on. I recommend double nutting to lock the nut because of all the vibration.

Re: Compressor mount
Our team bought new vibration dampers from McMaster-Carr, the ones supplied are too flimsy and can tear when just tension applied from ones fingers is applied to it. As for orientation, any way you can fit it on the bot is good, which is hard because of the triangular base...
