Team Constitution an by laws

Our team (524) is in need of a Team Constitution and By-Laws to establish our 501 (3) (c) tax exempt status with the IRS. We are wondering if there are teams that might be willing to share their Team Constitution and By-Laws to assist us in drafting our own.

Uh, team constitution? All the teams I know of just have understood rules and common sense. Unless I'm missing the point here.

Duhhh, you are missing the whole point. What David Bachtel wants to do is to establish a tax exempt number, so they don't have to have to pay taxes on goods because all FIRST teams are a non-profit organizations. Personally I do not know how to do that. I would go to your town or city hall and fill out the appropriate documentation there. The only thing you have to establish in getting your number is to prove that your FIRST team is currently active and you are only using the number for expenses towards the program.

Sorry David Bachtel I know that this post doesn't help at all. The best chance is to talk to a leader on another team and see how they did it.
