!!!!!!!1724--Reveals ALL!!!!!!!

Bumping it off the overpass and herding the ball are the only things we can do. Our autonomous works well too, we can score at least 16 points.

Re: !!!!!!!1724--Reveals ALL!!!!!!!

Glad to see another herder only bot out there, almost everyone is hurdling this year, and someone's going to have to run around and distract the opponents instead (or maybe bring the balls to a good hurdler!).

Re: !!!!!!!1724--Reveals ALL!!!!!!!

I second that-

I hope we see lots of efficient herders who can work together with us in a team.

I predict lots of slow, top heavy arm bots all clamoring for the same two balls

Re: !!!!!!!1724--Reveals ALL!!!!!!!

I'm on 1724 and our robot is pretty descent, all the weight is at the bottom and everything above about 6in tall is all aluminum so were definately not top heavy. I think hurdling the ball in traffic is going to be a lot harder than people think. You have to go pick up the ball, line up, hurdle just right and then go fight to pick up the ball in all the mayhem and traffic. When your a herder, you just go and consistently score points. Not to mention a lot of hurdlers relying on other robots to push the ball off for them

Re: !!!!!!!1724--Reveals ALL!!!!!!!

That's a neat looking arm/herding extension. Is there a story/design reason behind the shape of it?

Re: !!!!!!!1724--Reveals ALL!!!!!!!

The arm is a cane and the white plastic front is a claw that encompassed the ball, they work perfectly. We had to modify the cane though; make it stronger. Honestly our team isn't bright enough to make a good hurdling robot. I practically saved my team for autonomous, no one knew that you could calibrate the victor motor controllers, which solved all of our driving issues.
