Re: 2008 detroit regional

Here are some pics from the Detroit event. My apologies that I was only able to make it to the eliminations day and then only after lunch.

All the photos are full resolution if you click on the medium sized photo it will open in a new window (then right click to save-as).

NOTE: Selecting on "all" photos takes a long time to load because only the "favorites" are cached.

Re: 2008 detroit regional

I just have to say that the Detroit Regional was an amazing experience overall. Thank you so much to our alliances for being there when we were down. This was my first competition and I was in awe throughout the entire experience. It blew my mind how well everyone worked together and the amount of team spirit that was exemplified by all of the teams. I cannot wait to compete at Ypsi and then Atlanta in the near future. Hope to see you on the field and good luck to everyone!

Re: 2008 detroit regional

I think anyone can post the videos on TBA but you need the files. I know we recorded our matches, I'm not sure about the others. You will have to find the teams that recorded them and have them post the vids online. I'll see if we can get ours posted.

Re: 2008 detroit regional

First off. Great job to all who attended Detroit regional!
It was great seeing everyone out there so energized!

Congrats to 27 with the WFA and Chairmans and not to mention the hurdle at the last minute! I saw that fly by and almost freaked! You guys were definitely a hard team to beat!

Congrats to all rookies that attended. I was completely blown away by 2337. Not to mention the bullet bill!

Way to go 440 on their first regional win! You guys were great out there!

Last off. The thunderillas are back! 217-469 has grown so close together in a year! It wouldn't be FIRST without great people and great robots!
To quote "the foof" "I'd take a bullet for any of my homies on [217]"

great job everyone!

One more thing! When can we expect the videos on the Blue Alliance?

To all the teams at the detroit regional, you guys made it great. I got sick after the competition from all the cheering over people and my throat is still healing from the yelling. Eveyone did there best and thats all you can do. Good luck to all the teams in there coming competions !

I don't think anyone recorded all the matches, and no one signed up to archive the regional. I will look through my archive to see what I have, but I think it was mainly focused on our team (and our alliance partners), and would only be from Thursday or Friday (No HD cam on Saturday).

Re: 2008 detroit regional

A big thanks to teams 703 and 835 for a great run with us in the elimination tournament. You guys were awesome! Congratulations to 469, 217, and 440 for your undefeated run to the gold and to 27 for your Chairman's victory. We're looking forward to seeing you all in Atlanta! As for 27's last-second hurdle, simply unbelievable.

Re: 2008 detroit regional

I think team 27 did a pretty good job.
I can't believe they got it fixed.
The matches we're pretty good.

I'd also like to thank 815 and 1025, they were pretty good partners.
It is a little upsetting our battery fell out. We had it fall out during practice a few times, should've known...

Re: 2008 detroit regional

To be honest, there were many things that Team Rush did this weekend that were amazing - among them:
-Aforementioned last second hurdle (yes, it counted!)
-Getting their robot fixed and onto the field with seconds to spare in the timeout
-Somehow psychically telling their #3 alliance opponents to take silly hurdle-impeding penalties when it was 3-on-2 and 27 was benched
-Winning WFA (Tony Lapp) and Chairmans!

Re: 2008 detroit regional

Congratulations to teams 217, 469, and 440 for the victory! Also Congratulations to team 27 for the Chairman's award. Everybody did an excellent job today at Detroit. I was very impressed with many of the robot designs that I saw today, especially the rookie team 2337's amazing robot! I loved that kicking design!

Don't forget Chairman's

I'd like to thank teams 47 and 453 for carrying us while we swapped our transmission....twice.

Congrats to 217, 469, and 440, you guys were just the better alliance, and really did deserve the victory. That's 2 in a row for the chickens, nice work.

The pit crew is my new hero! Foxy and Barch are the best, the last second hurdle over the wall and overpass was the best play of the day in my opinion!
