Re: Offering Website Evaluations
This was more popular than I expected. I'm working on them...kinda, I got hit with tons of homework (yay college).
Keep in mind, this is just so you can improve your team's site and all reviewing based on only my judgment, don't take this as a reflection of how your team may have / may be scored. If you'd like to "sign up" please, as I said before...copy the list, I makes it easier for me to track who I have to do. Re: Offering Website Evaluations
Although teams are allowed to continuously update their websites if you have submitted your site for a Website Award at an upcoming Regional, please identify yourselves. I think it would be GP to have us not review your site until AFTER your Regional, in all fairness to others.
After all website judging is finished, I wouldn't mind taking a look at sites and offering some comments. In fact, I have a half-written NEMO white paper on the topic that I may find time to finish and publish, giving you the summer to think about making changes in your site. |

Re: Offering Website Evaluations
Are you allowed to use templates for sites? I have seen multiple robotics teams use the following template and I am wondering if one of them won, how fair it would be to the others?

Re: Offering Website Evaluations
Alright guys, sorry I haven't been around to do these.
But my finals are over. I hope to get 10ish done this weekend. I'll PM when yours is done, but post the results in the thread so others can use it to improve. (Unless you asked for PM, then it'll be there) Oh, and can we not take teams off the list when we are copying it please The List 1. http://robonauts.org/ 2. http://www.waialuarobotics.com/ 3. http://www.whitebearlakerobotics.com/ 4. http://www.team399.org/ 5. http://www.firstteam397.com/ 6. http://www.fairportfirst.com/ 7. http://www.vandenrobotics.org/ (Pm) 8. http://www.team56.com/ 9. http://www.project1726.org/2008web 10. http://www.uberbots.org/ 11. http://www.team1676.com/ 12. http://www.2080.lafrc.org/ (Pm) 13. http://www.team587.org/ 14. http://www.core2062.com/ 15. http://www.sdarobotics.org/ 16. http://www.thunderchickens.org/ 17. http://www.mvrt.com/ 18. http://www.team1625.com/ 19. http://www.stuypulse.com/ 20. http://www.hammerhead226.org/ 21. http://www.ortrobotics1690.com/ 22. http://www.team537.com/ 23. http://www.lelandrobotics.com/ 24. http://www.dpengineering.org/ (PM) 25. http://www.greybots.com/ 26. http://www.rivercityrobots.org/ (no FF) 27. http://www.webuildbots.com/ 28. http://www.hhsrobotics.org/ Quote:

Re: Offering Website Evaluations
You can post (instead of PM) Team 1717's site evaluation (dpengineering.org), so that others may benefit from the advice given.
Thanks again! |

Web sites are more than their "look". Content is key.

Re: Offering Website Evaluations
to me, templates are half the fun. That is to say that i make my own 'template' for whatever website i am working on. they don't all that long to make really, esspecially since you have a whole summer of time inbetween seasons. I dont agree with using premade templates though, to me that is taking the lazy way out. In the business word, employers hire you for your ability to make new things, not to use things that are already made (that is using them exactly and without change)

Re: Offering Website Evaluations
Not necessarily- I'd be surprised if you told me our team is the only one who has different people making the website than the people who are responsible for the content.
