Minnesota Regional Webcast

Just thought to let the CD community know that from what has been said for the MN Regional webcast to watch http://robotics.mnmsa.org/webcast.html there will be a link supposedly showing up on Thursday with the live webcast.

Thank you team 2175 for taking care of the webcast.

You're welcome!

The link should be going up on that page as soon as we get things set up on Thursday morning.

We will also be running real time archiving to SOAP (uploading may not occur in real time when other members of my team are manning the setup). So all teams should have access to video of all the Friday matches on Friday night if they would like them to prepare for Saturday.

Re: Minnesota Regional Webcast

Alright we will work on the audio issue tomorrow. We may also have some fixes in the works for the video as well.

I should be on here and SOAP Gameday more tomorrow as I will be sitting at the video table most of the day running the real-time archiving to SOAP

Re: Minnesota Regional Webcast

Ok, it just occurred to me why we had no audio.
The audio/video drop that was set up for us to use, was just a video drop. There was actually no audio cables connected to the a/v distribution panel.

So even though our computer was connected to the audio out ports of the distribution panel, there was no audio coming out of it.

Also, we were having bandwidth issues. I guess we underestimated how many people watch an event! Today (well I guess yesterday now), we were pretty much maxing out a 10mbps connection to a server hosted in a datacenter. On Friday, we will have 2 servers each with their own 10mbps line to distribute the load a bit more. We might even add a 3rd broadcasting server depending on the load and if we can secure one.

Re: Minnesota Regional Webcast

Ok, the audio issue is solved.

On the other hand, we are short on bandwidth. So that still is an issue.

Re: Minnesota Regional Webcast

Is there a schedule posted somewhere? How about the latest statistics (ratings)? The Milwaukee competition had an ongoing chat forum next to the streaming video, so we moms could comment and interact while watching....any chance you've got that capability?

Re: Minnesota Regional Webcast

Video from day 1 should be finished uploading to SOAP in the next couple minutes. Unfortunately matches 1-8 don't have audio and there is a match during the day that we only have half of. Tommorrow we should be uploading them in real time.
