Help with CMUcam2 serial communication

Hello all,

I'm using a cmucam2 and need some help, this was the best site I could find.

I'm interfacing the camera to an oopic S microcontroller. The controller and camera power sources have a common ground. The camera has a 5V and 0V reference taken directly from the controller.

The thing is:

If the camera is ON, sending any command results in a NCK 95% of the time.

If the camera is OFF, commands work as they should all the time! I guess that its drawing power from the serial pins.

I don't know what's going on, this has me completely baffled.. I guess its something to do with voltage levels but its beyond me. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
