Question Help with a job I am doing-how to emboss on an oval part?

I am working on a job and need to emboss a logo on the side of an oval part and can't figure out how to do it... so i thought I would post on here and see if anyone on here knows how to do it. I attached 2 pics of what I am working on... the 2nd one is the logo that I am trying to put on the first one(I have the sketch for the logo)... I want to put the logo on the bottom side in the pic.

any help would be great!!!!
thanks,
Martin O

Re: Help with a job I am doing-how to emboss on an oval part?

Ok, emboss can get a bit tricky if you are not used to it. First thing, is to make the part you want to emboss on (you have already done this.) Then, make a work-plane(if you look through your work-plane it will be looking at where the emboss is going.) This work plane should not intersect your part. Now, make a sketch on the plane. And put your logo on the sketch. Make sure that it does not go over the edge of your part.(this will cause major errors) Finally, tell it to emboss, make sure your direction is good, and you should be done. Please post if there is anything that I said that doesn't make full sense.

You cannot curve a sketch. They are always flat. However, when you emboss with the sketch, it will create the emboss that follows the curve.

No problems. Emboss is a hard tool to learn on your own. Let me know if you come acrossed any problems in the future.
