Recruiting and Funding
Hi, I am the student leader from Team 2522 which is Lynnwood High School in Washington State. We are a small team and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on how to attract and recruit new members? I was also wondering if anyone had any suggestions as far as raising money goes or any ideas of sponsors that may be willing to sponsor our team? Thanks.

Re: Recruiting and Funding
I hate to make replies like this but please use the search tool at the top. You'll find more than enough answers. Come back to this if you need some specific help though. Again, sorry, I usually post direct advice.

Another source is in the FIRST website. The President's Circle has put together some information for teams to access and use. This is a great time to be looking at resources and making plans for your upcoming year. Good luck to you and your team. Jane Last edited by JaneYoung : 09-07-2008 at 08:34. Reason: link |

Re: Recruiting and Funding
Welcome to Chiefdelphi. Some good suggestions above. Also encourage an adult on your team (mentor, teacher, parent) to join NEMO, http://www.firstnemo.org/resources.htm

Re: Recruiting and Funding
If you look at http://mentorsearch.us under Training we have tried to compile a few of the best resources on recruiting and fund-raising , we are in the process of adding more so you don't have to dig through lots of websites/information to find the tutorial you are looking for.

Re: Recruiting and Funding
Start an FLL team with 9th graders
. If you can get the FLL members to get excited about the whole idea of FLL, when you tell them about the FRC, they(the whole FLL group)'ll go nuts and will almost deffinatly join the FRC team.We in Handasaim Hertzliya High School in Israel raised 5 9th graded FLL teams in our school. Now, after the end of the 2008 season and the starting of the planning of the 2009 season, almost all of the members of the FLL teams (usually the most dedicated ones) want to be in the FRC next year. And we'll probablly let them all in. ![]() |

Re: Recruiting and Funding
if you go to a relatively small school and feel like you cannot attract enough members, maybe you should try recruiting from a high school if your area to make a multi-school team

Re: Recruiting and Funding
In the US, many 9th graders are too old for FLL. You should aim this at 5th through 8th grade recruitment.
