Stanford Engineering classes for free online

Stanford did something really revolutionary in my mind. They published all of the course materials for many engineering classes on the web for free. The use the creative commons license so they are free to distribute (most of them are on youtube) Right now there are a bunch of EE and CS classes but more is expected in the future. http://see.stanford.edu/default.aspx

Basically for anyone who wants to get the knowledge of going to Stanford this is a really good way to get the info for free.

Of notable interest
Introduction to robotics - http://see.stanford.edu/SEE/coursein...e-b30d1d179743

Programming methodology - http://see.stanford.edu/SEE/coursein...a-866adcae1111

I am going to be making it a goal to go through all of these classes so I can expand what I know about other subjects. I am sure some of you might be interested also.

I saw this on Slashdot this morning and took a look as some of the other EE courses, like the Intro to Linear Dynamic Systems. I'm a control systems guy myself, and some of the content is a bit up there even for me. This should be good brush-up work as I start my EE Master's Degree.

As a high school student I'd begin with the courses above, and stick with those until the end of the next robotics build season. That way you can (hopefully) apply what you learned without getting too far ahead of yourself.

Yeah I would only recommend those two courses. You'd be jumping the gun if you tried to get through all the courses.
