Hexbug hacking for fun and profit
Hack a Day linked me to this article, where they're chopping up a Hexbug and connecting up a new microcontroller to enable some nifty new things:
http://www.appliedinspirations.com/a...j-HexBug1.html It's over my head, not that that's saying much, but it does make a good point: a $10, readily-available moving base is hard to beat.

Wow, this site did a very detailed job of taking apart the hexbug. thanks for the info. I will never look at a hexbug in quite the same way again.
