Go to Post I will never forget Dean's opening lines: "I want you to know that I am here under protest. I believe that everything you are doing here is repugnant and ethically wrong. And now I am going to tell you why..." And for the next 35 minutes, that is exactly what he did. - dlavery [more]

[FTC]: more than 4 input devices?

My team is using a lego nxt brick to drive out robot. On the brick there is only four designated places for sensor devices like sound, infrared, and compass. if we wanted to use more than four is there a way we could do that?

You can daisy chain touch sensors together with the touch sensor multiplexor, to my knowledge that is all for now. I hope there are more sensor expansion ports soon as we need more sensors, but for now I think thats it.

Technically you only have three ports for sensors as 1 port is used for DC and Servo control.

Re: [FTC]: more than 4 input devices?

yes, the multiplexor is helpful for multiple touch sensors.

I think that teams can use a prototype board to expand their capabilities, but I don't think the prototype board can generate enough amps to power the sensors and stuff so you might be stuck with 3 ports as of now. But try the prototype boards and see if they work. They can be found at : http://www.hitechnic.com/ , look under products.
