The fish is quite disproportional.

I took the original hint and flipped it twice on word. I then changed the brightness and contrast of the picture to make out the writing. It turned out I was able to make out three words. The picture seen in the background of the picture is a Blue Catfish and this link takes you directly to a pdf version of the book which was used to scan the hint out of. This might not mean anything but now we know directly where the picture came from.

Good job finding the book! But can you find the opah photo on the other pages? My computer's too slow to load all those pages, but I haven't found it. Also, this is a guide to fish common in South Dakota. Does anyone know if opahs are common in South Dakota? I don't know much about fishing, but since they're usually only found by deep-water anglers and common in the tropical waters or the southern ocean, South Dakota seems to be an odd locale.

Also, this probably isn't important, but why did the GDC scan a water-stained photo out of a book instead of just pulling it off the pdf, wherever it is?

to make out the text in the background open the fishie up on photoshop. flip the image, then set the darkness to as dark as it will go. its an entry fro an encyclopedia or dictionary of something. but i dont think that FIRST would let something like that slip. this has to be relevant.

i dont think it has to do with wateri think it has to do with the movement of the fish

It's also known as a moon fish. I'm thinking a luner lander. The FTC is doing something with weird surfaces. I doubt it will do anything with water. It's got a camera and a high speed router, so you most likely won't be able to see it. I'm guessing the text is in the hint picture because they scanned it out of a book. I doubt there is any info on it that you can't find on internet.

Those are some pretty thin pages, but I believe you're right. I don't think the phrases/words will mean anything significant. But then again, who knows if this clue does either....
