Vic 884 PWM program change??

We just got our bench test board assembled and almost ready to start testing. We've been reading about other teams frying the Vic884's. We understand there is a programming change that needs to be done to accommodate the Vics as opposed to the factory default Jag setting. But where and to what do you make these changes?

Re: Vic 884 PWM program change??

For what it is worth, we connected one vistor and one Jaguar for the bench test and neither had any problems. But I will emphasize that was with the OTB software installed, prior to any updates or flashing, as discussed here.

I am speculating here, but I believe that there are blocks for the Victors and for the Jaguars in LabView, and these blocks are optimized for the device to which they are connected.

From the tutorials I have worked through, it is simply a matter of telling the vi, via a pull down selection, which speed controller is attached. The vi then takes care of the rest. Things like update rate and neutral values are different for the two.

Thanks Don & Bill. That's kinda what we thought.. but what do we know.. We just read so many "Board Level Firework Display" stories. Better to ask than to find out by accident.
