web file manager

Hey CD,

I am looking for a web based file manager (and upload manager) for my team's website. I know I could just make everyone use FTP, but this promises to be more fun. I already tried a nice php script called "FileThingy," (http://www.solitude.dk/filethingie/) but am dissapointed in it's 8mb max file upload limit. I know this is due to a max_file_size imposed by my shared host, but couldn't we get around that by chunking the file, and posting the chunks one after the other using javascript?

I emailed the people who make the following product (http://www.afian.com/), asking for reduced/free licenses, but would like to know if anybody has another suggestion!

Does anybody know of a free, simple file manager script with unlimited upload size?

Re: web file manager

I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for, but check this out:

http://autoindex.sourceforge.net/

You can set up users and passwords, too.

Re: web file manager

http://winscp.net does ftp and many other file transfers, by far the best program i have used for file transfers but it is not a web-based transfer so it doesn't really answer your question

Re: web file manager

Don't teams get access to PTC's ProjectLink for free ths year? Sounds like a great way to store files on a centralized server and have browser based access to them.
