Driver Station not allowing team number change

As a forewarning: This has been tried ONLY with an un-updated, "out-of-the-box" Drivers Station.

Anyways, as you may have guessed, we are having trouble changing the team number of the drivers station.

We hold down the middle (down) button for quite a bit of time (far more than the instructions' 4 seconds), with no change on the screen. The instructions say that after 4 seconds, the screen should ask you to input a team number, but we get the same screen as always- the status screen.

Do we have to update the DS first? Do we have to do something else that i am missing?

Do we have to update the DS first?

YES.

You could have gotten the answer sooner by reading the directions (which do tell you to update the DS firmware before changing the team number) or by searching the forums (which have several threads describing this exact situation).

Sorry, I didn't see any other topics in the control system forum about it, and the manual doesn't mention updating under the "setting your team number section," it just has instructions for setting the number.
