Payload Specialist & Commander

We all know that the Payload Specialists (PS from now on) have to pick up the balls with the grabber. First off, since we still only have one ball, can someone tell me how hard it is to pick up multiple balls with the grabber, and in general how hard the grabber is to use? How many balls can a PS hold while using the grabber (physically, not per the rules)?

The rules say that the PS has to use the grabber and that only the PS can enter balls on the field. Does this mean that the commander could use the grabber and pass the balls directly to the PS? It could really speed up the PS if so.
