The title says it all. What we are doing is a tank drive system; we have it all programmed and we have triple checked theprogram in LabView for any errors, updated everything....... Triple checked the wiring inside the robot...... And the motors do not respond to the joystick commands. We even checked with one of the old motor controllers; still nothing. This has been a problem we have been poring over for almost 6 hours now. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please?

Checked, double checked, and triple checked. I think.

Is this even while tethered?

Yes we connected the computer to the modem and the modem to the robot via eathernet cable. So the wireless is not a problem.
Sorry my spelling sucks and i am to tired to think as it is 3 in the morning |

Viper's on my team. Yes, we are tethered, and obviously connecting, as we can make the Jaguar go from blinking to solid.... yellow. It MIGHT be a problem with how I'm connecting though, as I am only running the Tele-Op VI, not the whole robot code; I don't know if that would change anything.

Re: Connecting to cRio, getting the jaguars to go solid yellow.... then nothing.
Have you checked your battery charge?
We've seen that the control system works fine as the battery voltage drops, but the motors stop responding when the voltage gets below about 11.5V. So, everything looks like a go, you've got solid yellow lights, but nothing moves. You might see blinking red or green lights. |

Are you feeding the system and user watchdogs? What is the Watchdog status LED on the digital sidecar doing? Is is blinking or is it solid?

Re: Connecting to cRio, getting the jaguars to go solid yellow.... then nothing.
I spent more than 6 hours last night trying to make it work. I finally got it. I just needed to put in a "DS: start comm". And now it works. we drove it around, and now we have either a slipping chain or some slipping gears. Good thing this is the test bot for the programmers, and not the bot we're using at the competition. Thanks all, though!
----- In other words, it WAS a problem that I wasn't using the whole robot code. I have that fixed ATM though. Last edited by DSST\neal.ian : 10-01-2009 at 14:31. |

If you're using toughboxes, check your keys. They fall out all the time. Easy repair and to prevent it from happening is to use a washer in there. But yea, check ur key.

We got that too, and now we just have a crazy SOUNDING toughbox, though that was just in comparison to the newly rebuilt one...... I think we are going to tear it apart and check for that too. Thanks.
