"Pause between auton and tele?"
Has anyone seen any mention of whether there could be the occasional pause between the end of autonomous and the beginning of teleoperated? With the human players being able to throw during auton, if there is a pause, will penalties be dealt to those who continue to throw? Would those balls be removed? And finally, what would happen with those 'airballs' that have been thrown before the buzzer, but score afterwards?

Re: "Pause between auton and tele?"
Traditionally they have had to put a pause between auton and teleop in order to calculate some sort of autonomous bonus. There are no such bonuses this year, so I don't see why they can't go right onto teleop. I suppose there is always that time it takes the drivers to walk up to the controls, though. Maybe they'll be expected to do that during the first few seconds of teleop now. Sounds like a great Q&A question, as I haven't seen anything on this yet.

Re: "Pause between auton and tele?"
Human players can throw game pieces (except supercells) in during autonomous without penalty. From the Q&A, posted by the GDC:

Generally, as said above, the pauses are because of autonomous bonuses in scoring which need to be calculated. We don't have any of that this year... so I'm guessing no pause. Last edited by smurfgirl : 11-01-2009 at 18:26. |

Re: "Pause between auton and tele?"
One of my first thoughts reading through the rules, after, "No auton bonus?", was, "No need to pause before teleop this year."

I'm looking forward to a Le Mans start, where the drive team needs to sprint to the controls before they can start driving

Re: "Pause between auton and tele?"
well im not thinkin the sprinting to the controls is a good idea. its not safe. ha. but im not sure about the pause.i can see a need for it. and i can also see there being no need. guess it dependson the individual match as it can change
