Fabric for trailor

I have a question for those teams who have completed their trailer. How much fabric have you used to make the bumpers? Thanks.

Re: Fabric for trailer

Having built many a robot bumper, I'll take a swag at it. You need strips about 13 inches wide to wrap around the plywood and noodles, and fasten in the back. The bumper perimeter of the trailer consists of 6 faces each about 16-1/2 inches long; the strips will need to be about 26-28 inches long to wrap around the angles on the noodles and fasten in back. You would be able to get two of these strips going across the 60-inch-wide Cordura fabric.

By my calculations, you should be able to make it with 1-1/4 yard of fabric.

Re: Fabric for trailor

We used our old robots bumper cloth and it was just the right amount.
