What exactly should be included in the Essay portion of the Chairman's Award Application? Is it basically just anything having to do with the team or are there any major points we should bring up?

will give you everything you need to know about Chairman's. If you scroll to Submission Content with the bullets on page 2, each sentence there is something you're going to want to talk about in your submission. I think there's 6 of them.

Basically what you want to put in the essay:

-Anything you've been doing in accordance with Dean Kamen's Homework
-Getting in touch with the community
-Interactions and experiences in growing relationships with mentors
-Interactions and thanks to with sponsors
-Special events that you've co-ordinated for FIRST (FLL, rallies, spirit days etc.)
-Any FRC teams you've started/sponsored
-Mention any scrimmages that you've done with other FRC teams in your area
-Thing that make your team a model team for others
-Things that you've done in the past (about all the stuff above)
-Anything else impressive that you did to spread a love for science and technology

Team 159 has won the Colorado Regional Chairmans award for three years in a row, so if you need any more help, you can contact me. We can collaborate on some ideas, if you'd like; I've got some that would take the resources of more than just our team.
