Re: Team Cosmos
Do you think that this will be an effective strategy while the other robots are moving on the field?

Re: Team Cosmos
Awesome robot! Pursue a trailer until the robot pulling it hits a wall, then dump. Should work fine.
A pursued robot, when turning to avoid the wall, shortens the distance from the pursuer. Definitely a winner. |

I would hope that they are moving at least somewhat.

Re: Team Cosmos
is it able to gather while the platform is raised, for example if you're trying to score on someone can you also be gathering balls at the same time.

Re: Team Cosmos
The lift is controlled using a PVC drum, pulleys, and 2 window motors.
It can not pick up balls after the lift is raised. Last edited by J. Stofflett : 06-02-2009 at 13:37. |

Re: Team Cosmos
If only we'd come up with this, it's a great design from my perspective the only change I would change the motor to a cim (if it's not already I'm not entirely sure) and use something like a 4:1 gear ratio (4 connected to cim) to help increase speed. Then with that extra speed I'd put another piece of lexan on the top to help the direction of the ball and decrease the chance of balls spilling over the back and sides. I'm not sure if anyone will agree with me, but that's what I'd want to do.

Re: Team Cosmos
That design is really neat. Our team seemed to dismiss the conveyer/lifter system this year, since it didn't seem like a workable strategy at the time. You guys have pulled it off very well, good luck at the regionals.
