Team 167 Website (Includes 2009 robot pics & video!)

Hi all, I've been really impressed with a lot of the websites submitted for the chairman's award. The depth of the content is really impressive and some of the designs are spectacular (Team Pronto and AdamBots come to mind.)

We've (read "I've") rebuilt our site from scratch this year: http://www.icrobotics.com We don't have the extent of information of most of you (yet!) but we're constantly working on updating.

Anyways, as a prize for checking it out, you can see a quick video of our robot in various stages on the media page.

All I ask in return is some comments: what's good, what's bad? what information should we look to add? I'm building a section for Useful resources for other robotics teams, and some sort of directory of our students, alumni, and mentors. Any comments appreciated!

Thanks for the compliment! By the way, in case you didn't know, the websites aren't submitted for the chairman's award (I'm guessing that's just a typo). Anyway, looks like you've done a pretty nice job. The design and style is much more interesting compared to a lot of the other team sites I've seen.

One quick suggestion I have though is to add more pictures to your all text pages. Especially the About FIRST and About Lunacy pages. Doing that will make the page more intriguing and make the reader actually want to read it.

Fancy that. Ryan and I are the first to reply to your thread

Like Ryan said, pictures add a lot to a page's content. When a viewer sees a wall of text it can be a bit intimidating. That being said, teampronto.com could definitely use more pictures!

I like the color scheme as it is very bright and welcoming. I lol'd at the footer...and the disclaimer for the footer. Nice work

One more thing, you may want to make your header/title a little more noticeable. Right now it seems like its too much like the rest of the content. You could possibly make it bolder or add separation of some kind between it and the content.

I agree with Ryan on everything.

Overall I think it's pretty creative and visually engaging. Good work.

Thanks all for your comments and ideas! Yes, I was aware websites didn't count towards chairman's award--must have been preoccupied with trying to finish the essays/video for chairman's .

The idea was that after i spent the time on the custom php/mysql system, others could update the pages, but i guess i'll end up adding pictures and whatnot myself.
