More bucks for your time

Is your team/school reaping the maximum benefits from its fund-raising efforts? Are you sure you’re getting the biggest possible piece of the pie? Would you like to make more?

The Gift Card fundraiser is a different kind of fund-raising program, one that offers delightful and appealing gift items at excellent prices. These are the kinds of items found in some of the finest gift shops. Not only does the Gift Card usually cost less - but the consumer knows that a sizeable chunk of their donation is going to a good cause: YOURS! The combination of quality and convenience of shopping on the Internet generates a lot of sales, which of course translates to a a bigger “pie”--- and therefore, a bigger piece for your organization! Plus, as fund-raising participants see the sales pile up they become more and more enthusiastic in their efforts, which in turn leads to even more sales!

Here is the easy 7-step process which defines the program:

Step 1. The participants (kids or elected fundraisers) go out with the catalogs and ask for a donation on behalf of the team/school.

Step 2. The participants show their items in the catalog and ask for a $10, $25, or a $50 donation.

Step 3. The participants inform the people (consumers) that in return for their donation to the team/school, they will receive a gift card for the exact amount of the donation, which they can redeem for thousands of products from the online store.

Step 4. The participants then go out with catalogs, a sample gift card, collection envelopes, and order forms.

Step 5. The participants use a two-part order form and write up the order for the gift cards leaving the customer a receipt.

Step 6. The participants bring all of the order forms and the money back to the team/school.

Step 7. Happy Cat Gifts will order the gift cards and deliver the cards back to the team/school, where the cards are distributed to the donors.

As you can see, this is a very clean, simple process, eliminating all the hassles of product delivery, storage, breakage, and shipping.

HERE’S AN IDEA OF THE PROGRAM’S POTENTIAL:

Let’s say your team/school can field 20 participants.

The participants are going to be asking for $10, $25, and $50 donations (corresponding to the denominations of the Gift Cards). Let’s be conservative and say the average donation is just $15.

Now let’s assume the participants generate an average of 10 donations each. We have:

20 participants @ 10 donations = 200 individual donations
200 donations @ $15 average donation value = $3,000 total funds raised!

This fundraiser would offer an even split of the funds raised, so in this example $1,500 would be raised for your team/school!

It’s been our observation that people are tired of seeing the same old cookies, candy, and wrapping paper. Unfortunately, that can have a negative impact on your overall fundraising potential. OUR program allows donors to shop conveniently on a website that features over 3000 highly attractive, desirable home and garden décor products, gift items, collectibles, children’s toys, licensed sports items, and much, much more. This means your donors can find items they want, find items they might need, and they can always turn around and give the gift card as a gift to someone else.

And most important of all, happy donors are much more likely to donate again and again!

I would like to show you how the Gift Card fundraiser can help you make your next fund-raising campaign the most successful one ever. If you’d like to talk to me about this feel free to contact me at the number below.

Sincerely,

Vickie Doenges

Re: More bucks for your time

I think I'm confused. If Happy Cat Gifts is giving out gift cards, and the teams keep all the money taken in, then how does Happy Cat Gifts make any money?

Most likely everything on the website is twice as expensive as it should be.

This is Vickie Doenges - the money is split evenly between the team/school and Happy Cat Gifts. Example: If $2000 in gift cards are sold the team/school would get $1000.

I didn't mean to diss it. If I where selling it to a customer I would not tell them that. I was just trying to explain how they most likely did it. I actually DID look at the website first too. Granted it is nothing I would ever buy but after looking at the prices of things I'm guessing that they make money by charging a huge markup.

Re: More bucks for your time

I'm sure this will be good for some teams, but I have a hard time to get someone to donate $10 let alone go to a website to buy something. Thanks for the suggestion though. I hope it helps many other teams out there.
