Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
That's a Nice Robot but the Pro-E Model is even nicer.
I showed that Model to my mentor at work and he was amazed that you were able to make something that nice in 2 weeks. How many people worked on it? I'm assuming that it was a group of people because that would be almost impossible to do with one person. (Then again, you are the PINK team.) Back to the robot though, that is by far one of the most beautiful robot's I've ever seen. I'd love to see it function, something tells me I'd be very fun to watch the balls snake through that delivery system. |

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
If you look close you can see a part sticking up that looks as though it is going to be used for a hopper still. I am guessing it will show up when it is taken out of the crate at FL
you can see it on these images http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/img...b9facd21_l.jpg and http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/img...c0135e94_l.jpg |

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
Even when I am expecting to be astonished by your robots, they still astonish me. That's impressive. Your robot looks very complicated, but so precisely wrought that it will just blow everyone else away on the field- I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys in action! (Now if only it were your signature pink this year...)

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
Man Pink, congrats on another smexy bots. That looks like a ton of sheets and hours beyond hours of CAD. Did you guys use Pro.E or Solidworks this year. Can't wait to see your bot upclose and did you guys end up powdercoating your bot Blue or Black (I have a pic of you guys blue one year?)

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
First thing I thought of when I saw the picture (besides the lack of pink of course
)was how complex the design was but nonetheless how unique and impressive it is. I'd ask questions but I've decided to put them off until I get to see it in person. That robot is probably the robot I am most excited to see close up. I think it's great that your mentor made a Lamassu connection; its such a great comparison. Can't wait to see it this weekend in action, the best of luck! |

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
My first thought was:
Wow, my mother would have nightmares about dusting that thing... My second thought was: I bet it will come out of the crate pink... The crate works under the same principle as a spray tanning shower. Third: Looks well thought out and masterfully built... our team was just talking about 6WD with lowered center wheels... That is our normal drive train but this year we didn't even try it out.. I think it may have been foolish on our part. Let us know how it runs. |

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
Can't wait to compete you you guys in Florida, but first A. you should color it like the CAD B. you should have turned the turret in the CAD picture to represent the head. But really, I would like to know your top speed, amount of balls you can hold, and how fast can you shoot out the balls (balls/minute).

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
I would be a little careful with the front motor being in close proximity of the crio. Team 2228 had some field problems with a motor being located near the crio last weekend.

Re: pic: 233 Pink Roccobot 2k9
you guys might have to reinforce the front of your bot above the suck up roller.
we had to triple stack eight inch angle on each side of our robot after coming back from a match and they were both bent in a solid 1/2 an inch |
