Robots returned?

Has anyone gotten there robot back from a week 1 regional? Or does anyone know how long it takes them to make there way home?

Our team is attending a 2nd regional but one of our local area teams only went to one. We are thinking of trying to use their robot to do drive test/test code and would like to get an idea when they are likely to get there Robot back.

Re: Robots returned?

I was under the impression that you had to sign a form. Sorry for not having a good response, but you should check with them if they had gone through the procedure?

Re: Robots returned?

You have to sign a form to take your robot home from the regional, not to have it shipped home.

FedEx indicates it could be up to a month. See Section 4.

That said, it's usually been the following week for my teams. It all depends on the volume of stuff in FedEx's system, since our donated shipments (as I understand it) move through at a lower priority. (But hey, you know what they say about looking gift shipments in the mouth...)

Re: Robots returned?

We went to the DC regional, and we got our robot back Wednesday. Maybe you want to check with the team's shipping person who may have a tracking number...

Re: Robots returned?

I checked the fedex tracking on our robots on Tuesday. The robot that had to travel 1000 miles to Atlanta was delivered. The robot had had to travel 15 miles home was still in transit. We did get our robot on Wednesday of this week. Not bad for a week 2 regional.

Re: Robots returned?

I know our robot made it home from the KC regional before yesterday, although I don't know exactly when. On the other hand, it didn't necessarily have to leave the city limits, so that may not help much.
