Hey guys.

Our team coach, Tony Bertucci, won the WFA at the Lone Star Regional in Houston, TX this past weekend. We're stoked to get him entered into the Championship WFA, but we're not sure of the process. I read that each team who has a WFA winner can submit ONE WFA winner's name into the hat each year, but we're not sure if winning the WFA gives an automatic entry into the Championship WFA, or if there's an additional step we need to take to get him into that Championship WFA.

Can someone shed some light on this for us?

Danny,

It is pretty simple.

If this year's winner is the only one from your team, then they are automatically entered for the Championship WFA.

If you also submitted a refresher essay for a former winner, the WFA committee will contact your team representative (from firstawards.org) and ask who you want nominated for the Championship.

In case you are wondering, thie is an official answer.
