Meeting people at nationals

Can anyone give me some advice on meeting and talking to new people when I go to nationals in a week or so, or anywhere for that matter? I have issues when it comes to forcing myself to talk to people I don't know, even when I really want to. It's just not in my nature. To be perfectly honest, every friend I have now I only have because I was forced into contact with them, like in classes or summer programs or whatever.
