Urgent networking problem
There is this school board meeting at our school tomorrow and we were planning to show them our robot. We have just started setting up our robot for the first time since competition and I have ran into a major problem. The networking isn't working. I tried everything and I had no luck. As a last effort I held down the reset button on both the bridge and the router to reset them. Then I tried re following the steps listed in the control system guide and I couldn't get anything. I tried typing 192.168.1.250 and 192.168.1.1 and I couldn't get the page for either the router or the bridge. I am at a complete loss. I don't know where to start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Urgent networking problem
Is the encryption still in place on your bridge? Are you able to ping the bridge and router?

Re: Urgent networking problem
Is your computer also set to a non-conflicting address on the 192.168.1 subnet?

Re: Urgent networking problem
Link for info on the router
http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/...T610N/download Power up the WRT610N and watch the blue Power LED. It should flash during self-diag and go solid when complete. Connect an ethernet cable directly to port 1-4 on the WRT610N (Not WAN port!) Check for LEDs active on both the WRT610N and the PC/Laptop. Make sure PC is set to get address from DHCP. On PC, Start...Run...cmd Use command 'ipconfig /all' (no quotes) and verify: you have an IP address you have a Default Gateway The Default Gateway should be 192.168.1.1 if you reset the WRT610N back to defaults correctly. The Linksys User Guide says you have to hold the Reset button for at least 5 seconds. Browse to http://192.168.1.1 and configure as directed in FIRST documentation. |

Re: Urgent networking problem
It just sounds like what Alan suggested, that your PC isn't set to a compatible IP address of 192.168.1.6 (or something similar)
If you have multiple network cards (wireless, cable) then you might be getting conflicts. You can just disable the networks you don't need right now. For the bridge it sometimes has an alternate default IP address of 192.168.1.251 For the WGA (bridge) you need to disable the WPA encryption used at competition on the Basic - Wireless page. Set "Security Mode" to None. Last edited by Mark McLeod : 07-04-2009 at 09:37. |
