89 Cent Safety Glasses - Harbor Freight

Just got this coupon in an e-mail. May be useful for some teams to stock up. They are very similar to the ones handed out at the pit entrance at FRC events. Valid through April 19, 2009

Sweet cheap goggles are hard to find.

Another option for teams is to contact their sponsors and ask about overstock goggles that they might have. This year I know BAE Systems had a lot extra so we got some high quality colored and slightly tinted goggles for free. Definitely ask your sponsors!

Also, don't skimp on safety glasses. Not saying these are good or bad but you only have one set of eyes, do your research.

All safety glasses are certified to be impact resistant. Generally, more expensive ones are just more comfortable, and might have special coatings (anti-scratch, anti-fogging, etc).

still, be careful which ones you get. We had some old, cheap safety glasses that broke and sent someone on our team to the eye doctor.

Re: 89 Cent Safety Glasses - Harbor Freight

i've used some of these before in gym class for paddle-ball... i have to say that they fall off very easily. We were running around all over the place, but it was very obvious that they would fall off easily. For how often you wear safety glasses in FIRST (which i hope is just about all the time) just grab yourself a good pair of safety glasses that are comfortable, convenient, and strong.
