FRC 27 Team RUSH Mentor Camp

Team RUSH will again be hosting an FRC Mentor Training Camp, Saturday October 17th.

The registration fee is $25/per 2 mentors.

Topics will include;

-team organization
-fundraising
-team building and sustainability
-managing mentors
-the "six weeks"
-designing a robot
-building a FIRST robot
-what to expect from your FIRST experience

and any other topics of interest!

The Team RUSH Mentor Camp is geared towards teams of all sizes and experience levels. Each session of the camp will be taught by a Team RUSH veteran mentor.

Camp starts at 8am and is expected to last until about 2pm. A light lunch will be served.

We had several people attend their Mentor Camp last fall (myself included) and I can say that it was EXCELLENT! Attending were rookie teams and more veteran teams like ours and all of us found a lot of valuable lessons in the presentations.

The advantage of attending vs. reading the book afterwards, is that you can ask a lot of questions about the specific needs of your team. For example, we were working on making the transition from a 10-15 person more "vertical" structured" team to a 20-25 more "horizontal" team with multiple leaders each handling their own area. They gave us a lot of tips for getting the most out of our people, and of course, the fundraising and sponsor support ideas were extremely valuable.
