code problem

after we have done all the configuration and stuff with the cRio, we tried to put our code on, and we go to configure it on the cRio, and it says that the code is complete and on the cRio. Then when we run the drivers station it states that there is no code. Does anyone know why this is?

Re: code problem

Did you try restarting you cRIO before testing it? If you don't restart it, the code does not get on the cRIO properly. Also, did you wait a couple of seconds? Sometimes the cRIO takes a while to reboot.

Hope that helps!

Re: code problem

thanks for the help, but we did restart it, and waited several minutes while we built the code, and then tried to load the code onto the cRio.

Re: code problem

OK, a few questions...

What code are you using? C++, LabView, or Java? Have you flashed the latest image onto the cRIO? Are you using the WPIlib? Is there anything else that you are doing that might help us debug the problem?

Re: code problem

I'm really sorry, but I can't help you too much more. All the teams that I have been on used C++ in WindRiver, so I don't know anything about LabView. My only experience with it was via RoboLab for FLL. I wish I could help more, and if there is anyway that you think I could help, please don't hesitate to send me a PM, or re-post in this thread. Once again, I am really sorry I could not help more.

Re: code problem

Once again I am really sorry, I know how frustrating it can be having a problem, and no one to help you fix it. Just one thought--and you have probably already done this--have you gone through the Controls System Manual? What about the LabView Documentation?

Re: code problem

Did you review the help topic about loading the code to the robot on NI's website? See http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-8973.

We had an issue were the code would appear to deploy when clicking the run option on robot main.vi and no communication would happen. This was a bug caused by not registering the NI software on the classmate.

Re: code problem

Are you downloading or deploying?

To run the code from the bot you need to build a "new real-time application" and run it as startup.

How are you running your code?

If you run your code with the run button in LabVIEW, it is running in RAM and will stop running if you press the finish or stop button, or if you close LabVIEW, or if you log out of windows.

Re: code problem

if i do recall, i think there is something called EnhancedIO. it is a code in java, but i think labview has something similiar. i think it basically has nothing, but after that was put onto the robot, i was able to put my benchtop code back onto it, and it worked fine...

Unless you specifically told LabVIEW to run your code at startup, turning the cRIO off and back on again will indeed result in there being no code running. If you want your program to run when you turn on the cRIO, you need to build the code then choose the Run at Startup option instead of just Deploy.

Re: code problem

We are running Windriver and expierienced the same problem. We had put the new image on and the cRio was recieving our code. When we booted the driver software we recieved a no code error. We fixed the problem by taking this link http://first.wpi.edu/FRC/frccupdates.html and then running this update. "The mandatory LabVIEW update contains the new images and imaging tool to work with Java or C++." We reimaged the cRio once again and no longer had a problem.

Re: code problem

RTMS (a variation on KISS)

Not sure if this will solve the problems here, but, everyone remember there are two updates one for labview, and one for the driver station:
